Introducing our brand new team of Navigators, your savvy guides to the four corners of Camp Bestival. Drawing on the rich and bounteous wisdom of bygone days, and a host of incredible, magical feats of skill, this valiant band of explorers has the secret knowledge that will steer you towards all of the hidden treasures and thrilling fun that Camp Bestival has to offer.

Not only standing by to greet you with your Explorer’s Passport when you arrive, you will also find the Navigators journeying through the festival all weekend, or at their base in Navigation Town, ready to dazzle and delight with their panache, pzazz, artistry and dexterity, encouraging and inspiring you to try new activities, make new discoveries, and gain as many stamps and stickers for your Explorer’s Passport as you can.

Be sure to seek out the Navigators as they plot the course of your odyssey of adventure and entertainment at Camp Bestival.

Electa - Bubbleologist

Electa can transport you into a parallel universe that’s normally unseen by the human eye. An effervescent presence bursting with joy, she’s got bubbly fun and games galore so be sure to pop along to see her.

What is your navigation superpower?
Transporting people into a parallel bubble universe which you can’t normally see with the human eye.

What’s the most unusual location you’ve performed a show in?
The desert

If you could visit anywhere in the world (including under the sea, outer space, atop the highest mountain) where would it be?
The jungle canopy in the Amazon rainforest

What skills are you looking forward to bringing to Camp Bestival to share with the festivals audience?I’m looking forward to bringing bubble fun, bubble games, giant bubble clouds, vapor filled bubbles and human bubble traps to the festival.

Navis - Hula Hoop Performer

Navis’ sixth sense is her guide. Letting nature show her the way, Navis has an ambition to journey to the centre of the Earth, and a penchant for high-heeled roller skates. Seek her out and she’ll certainly put a spin on your day.

What is your navigation superpower?
My 6th sense! No technology or devices needed, I follow my heart (I wish..)

What’s the most unusual location you’ve performed a show in?
An underground tunnel!

If you could visit anywhere in the world (including under the sea, outer space, atop the highest mountain) where would it be?
I would love to visit the core of the Earth, that would be incredible to see!

What skills are you looking forward to bringing to Camp Bestival to share with the festivals audience?
High heel rollerskating and hula hooping in the sun!

Mercator - Fire Magician

Mercator’s wizard-craft and alchemy keep his course true. A master of sorcery who once performed underwater, he’s a fiery enchanter who can divine your fortune. Time spent with Mercator is guaranteed to be magic. bestival.

What is your navigation superpower?
Dousing Rods / Pendulums / Cards Direct Locations / Ideomotor Reflex / Dice / Crystal Ball

What’s the most unusual location you’ve performed a show in?
Under Water, Indian Ocean

If you could visit anywhere in the world (including under the sea, outer space, atop the highest mountain) where would it be?
If time travel is allowed, Egypt, when the Pyramids were being built ! If not, Japan

What skills are you looking forward to bringing to Camp Bestival to share with the festivals audience?
I am excited to bring magic and blending it within the Navigator theme, I am also excited to potentially use some other object Manipulations into the picture too if it fits.

Cygni - Aerial Performer

Cygni is a heatseeking acrobat who is energised by the sun. One day she’d love to visit the warmth of the Antarctic’s thermal waters but as an interactive aerialist there are all kinds of other hot springs that she can bring to Camp Bestival.

What is your navigation superpower?
I take power from the sun and I can visualise where all warm surfaces are.

What’s the most unusual location you’ve performed a show in?
A bathtub

If you could visit anywhere in the world (including under the sea, outer space, atop the highest mountain) where would it be?
Hot Springs in Antarctica

What skills are you looking forward to bringing to Camp Bestival to share with the festivals audience?
Movement, performance, aerial, interactivity and styling

Astra - Hat Juggler

Astra gets her bearings from a magical, luna-powered compass. She’s a millinery manipulator who would love to visit the moon but for now her dynamic trapeze trickery will help you to get you into the swing of things.

What is your navigation superpower?
Having a magical compass that gets energised from the moonlight!

What’s the most unusual location you’ve performed a show in?
In a riding hall for training horse riding. 

If you could visit anywhere in the world (including under the sea, outer space, atop the highest mountain) where would it be?
The moon! Outer space.

What skills are you looking forward to bringing to Camp Bestival to share with the festivals audience?
Showing my playful energy where I combine manipulation hats with trapeze, but also my quick dynamic trapeze skills.

Carta - Clown

Carta’s hilariously spectacular sense of direction is driven by a powerful sense of smell. So, if you’re looking for a tasty trajectory, you might just find him clowning around near some delicious food.

What is your navigation superpower?
I have a fantastic sense of smell, this helps me to reach any location where food is a cooking! …Maybe I should call myself JoeSniff?!

What’s the most unusual location you’ve performed a show in?
On a desert island in Indonesia!

If you could visit anywhere in the world (including under the sea, outer space, atop the highest mountain) where would it be?
Space!

What skills are you looking forward to bringing to Camp Bestival to share with the festivals audience? I’m looking forward to bringing my hilariously spectacular sense of direction & navigating skills!

Meridia - Wire Walker

Meridia’s tried and test method of Zen Navigation doesn’t necessarily get you where you want to go but always gets you where you need to be. A tight wire talent with oceanic ambitions, Meridia will bring your day some balance.

What is your navigation superpower?
Holistic Zen Navigation

What’s the most unusual location you’ve performed a show in?
On a wire strung between the extended buckets of two diggers pulling against each other to make the wire tight, on the shore of a lake in Macedonia

If you could visit anywhere in the world (including under the sea, outer space, atop the highest mountain) where would it be?
Ancient treasure filled ship wrecks in undiscovered Caribbean reefs.

What skills are you looking forward to bringing to Camp Bestival to share with the festivals audience? Bringing my skill of tightwire walking!

Stella - Balloon Modeller

Stella can always find her way by conjuring navigational instruments from thin air. She wants to bounce around in zero gravity, but for now she’s ready to transport you to imaginary worlds by balloon.

What is your navigation superpower?
Creating things to help you navigate out of things air. Binoculars, magnifying glass, glasses to help you read, arrows to show the way…

What’s the most unusual location you’ve performed a show in?
I once performed in a very dark cave in the middle of a forest in Wales.

If you could visit anywhere in the world (including under the sea, outer space, atop the highest mountain) where would it be?
I would love to perform somewhere in zero gravity. Then I can just bounce around all day.

What skills are you looking forward to bringing to Camp Bestival to share with the festivals audience?
I’m looking forward to bringing clowning, improvisation, all things balloons and a sprinkle of wonderment.

Trix - Hat Juggler

Trix’s indelible mind map means that once she’s been somewhere, she can always remember the way. An agile bonnet bamboozler, and hat acrobat, be prepared for Trix to make you lose your head with excitement.

What is your navigation superpower?
Once I’ve been somewhere I can always remember the route there.

What’s the most unusual location you’ve performed a show in?
I’ve performed inside a cave, and a giant greenhouse (the Eden project) in Cornwall.

If you could visit anywhere in the world (including under the sea, outer space, atop the highest mountain) where would it be?
If I could go anywhere right now it would be a hot spring with the snow monkeys in Japan.

What skills are you looking forward to bringing to Camp Bestival to share with the festivals audience?I am most looking forward to bringing interactive hat acrobatics to Camp Bestival.

Bligh - The Town Crier

Bligh’s magnetic personality keeps him going in the right direction. A scintillating marvel with a fondness for puns, performing on top of a mountain may have been the peak of his career…until now.

What is your navigation superpower?
Puns are us. I have a magnetic personality. I’m also super good at loosing things on route and banging my head on low hanging branches. It’s a wonder I can still function.

What’s the most unusual location you’ve performed a show in?
In a boating lake in Bradford, In a large bag that smelt of a kipper, Up a mountain dressed as a Dodo.

If you could visit anywhere in the world (including under the sea, outer space, atop the highest mountain) where would it be?
The centre of the Earth.

What skills are you looking forward to bringing to Camp Bestival to share with the festivals audience?
My humour & stupidity will be packed into my backpack
